| Synopsis:- |
| Ed Stevens is a hot shot New York City lawyer who upon finding out that his wife is cheating on him moves back to his hometown of Stuckyville where he buys the local bowling alley and sets up his new law practice. Ed tries to win back the woman of his dreams Carol only to find it is more difficult than it seems. Sabrina's character, Frankie, is a young lawyer who wants to join Ed's practice - and succeeds. |

| My review:- |
| "Ed" falls into that genre loosely termed "Dramedy", which is usually a good thing since it means the show doesn't sit nicely into any pre-determined box. And it's a good thing in this case too. Stripped of it's humour "Ed" would be much less of a show. Allowing the characters scope to be funnier and quirkier than real life makes them eminently watchable. |
| There are strong performances from all the cast and the characters, particularly from Tom Cavanagh and Julie Bowen as the "core couple" of Ed and Carol. My one slight gripe is a tendency for the character of Molly to get a little "Rosie O'Donnell" at times. This seems more a flaw in the writing than in the acting. |
| Sabrina's character of Frankie slots nicely into the mix. There are definite echoes of Natalie in Frankie and the sharp, smart, quick lines give Sabrina another opportunity to display her prefect delivery. She sparks particularly well off Tom Cavanagh's Ed as the two characters have similar traits and this makes for some excellent verbal jousting. |
| Sabrina was initially signed up to guest star in "Ed" for six episodes. This was extended to eight, then extended again to take her to the end of the season; Frankie forming the third side of a triangle with Ed and Carol. The season closed with Ed having to choose between the two women and deciding on Carol. |
| Although Sabrina was contracted for an additional four episodes, the writers/producers elected not to have Frankie still around at the start of season 4. A big mistake. Aside from being an excellent character, Frankie would have injected some much needed tension into a season that struggled for drama now that Ed and Carol were paired off. |
