Genre:  Drama

Synopsis:-
High school students Sarah & Jack have won the chance to represent their school in a national film-making competition. They start work on their film but it's frank discussion of subjects such as homosexuality and pre-marital sex meets with the disapproval of the school authorities who demand that Sarah & Jack censor the film before entering it.

The students resist the pressure and, with school facilities denied them, seek to complete the film, raising funds to pay for private facilities. Then they find the private facilities withdrawn as the school threatens to withhold business from local suppliers who help them.

Sarah takes a pragmatic approach and decides to swallow her principles and make the cuts in order to follow her dream. Jack refuses and the pair fall out until Jack makes an impassioned speech at a meeting of the school governers. The presence of the press forces the school to back down and Sarah & Jack can complete their film the way they want.

My review:-
Love, Off Limits was originally a CBC School Break Special and is now only available as an educational video examining the theme of censorship (of minor interest is the fact that it was directed by Steve Guttenburg, who also briefly appears).

It's origins are betrayed in weakness of the story and a general lack of depth in the writing. However, the performances are generally good, given the limitations of the material. Sabrina is, of course, the best of the bunch (well what did you expect?). As one of the stars she gets plenty of on-screen tiime and looks wonderful.
