| Does this face look familiar? If so, there`s a chance you`re either a fan of Network Ten`s Sliders or that a more Eighties-looking Sabrina Lloyd may have lived with you in Brisbane. |
| “I remember getting on the plane, thinking, 'I`m going to go to sleep and when I wake up I`ll be in Australia`,” she says. “But when I woke up I still had 12 hours to go. I couldn`t believe it.” |
| Sabrina, who plays feisty dimension traveller Wade Wells in the sci-fi series, spend a year in Australia on a student exchange program nearly a decade ago, having “The best time”. |
| “It was so beautiful,” she says. “I felt like I became a woman in Australia. I went there this naïve little girl from a very small town in America and I was alone in Brisbane, going out to nightclubs. It sort of opened my eyes to the world.” |
| But Sabrina - who recently became engaged to a crew member on the show - has now lost contact with her Australian host family and has no idea if they know that the starry-eyed 15-year-old who studied at the Brisbane Royal theatre Company has found acting success around the world. |
| |
| “I lost contact,” she says. “I kept it for the first few years, but after that they moved and I moved on,” she says. “I was already into acting when I was there, so I did some plays and a workshop. But I didn`t get to travel, unfortunately. It just means I`ll have to take another trip there.” |
